ColligoNet Site Designer Technology

(CNSD)

CNSD is a very powerful, flexible, easy-to-use java based desktop website design and layout application. CNSD allows you to layout a site and specify dynamic areas (Dynamic Blocks) in a website template. Using the CNSD graphical interface, you will insert images, apply colors, set fonts, text alignment and define other site characteristics through the use of Cascading Style Sheets. CNSD creates CSS files, template files and settings in the ColligoNet site database.

Blocks

CNSD uses a proprietary technology called Static and Dynamic Blocks to build website templates. These templates are applied to website pages. Dynamic Blocks allow designers to quickly layout a site and incorporate dynamic website functions without any coding. Site designers can think of each area of a web page as a block. Dynamic Blocks are rectangular areas on a web template that makes calls to specific ColligoNet Engines. A website built with CNSD blocks is 100% dynamic and thus a very powerful website and business tool.

Static Blocks

Static Blocks are used for the position of Dynamic Blocks and for graphical elements on a website such as background images, borders and more.

Dynamic Block

Dynamic Blocks run dynamic ColligoNet functions (ie. Forms, banners, subscriptions, eCom and so much more).  Currently there are greater than one hundred Dynamic Block functions that can run in thousands of different modes.

Dynamic Block Type

There are many predefined block types.  All you need to do is 'right mouse click' on a block and set it to a pre-defined block type.

Templates

CNSD Site Templates allow site designers to quickly build a template that can be used across multiple sites, a site room, or individual pages.

Local Assets

My Local Templates are templates that are stored locally on a site designer's computer. This allows site designers to use the templates of one site for many sites. My Local Templates can contain both static and dynamic blocks.

Block CSS Settings

Generic and specific CSS controls are available and applied to each dynamic block type.  This allows for ultimate design control.  CSS for each block type can be set and saved and used in other blocks in your site or saved to be used on other sites.

Skins

Skins are a set of CSS values stored for a specific block type.  You can save a skin and then apply it to other blocks on the current site or any site.  Skins can be shared with other designers.

Design Groups

Design groups are an assembly of skins that can be applied to different templates and used from site to site. Design Groups save template style settings as well as block style settings. Design Groups can be shared with other designers.

Page Format

This allows you to quickly set the page layout to 800 pixels, 1004 pixels, or a custom width for the design of your site. By selecting one command, your site automatically is formatted to the width you define.

Toolbar

The toolbar contains many editing and control functions for blocks and the entire template.

Preview

Preview allows you to see your site design real-time and enables you to make very fast and productive changes to the design of the site or of an individual block.

Report

CNSD outputs a report that shows you the block layouts, all of their positional settings and all of the CSS settings for each individual block.

Security

CNSD has built-in security for both local and site storage of all assets, providing you peace of mind.
