Rear Admiral (Retired) John E “TED” Gordon 

Ted Gordon is a retired US Navy Rear Admiral whose last assignment was as the Judge Advocate General of the Navy (JAG).

He has recently been elected as a Member, Board of Regents and Senior Fellow at The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies (www.potomacinstitute.org.), an independent, (501(c)(3), not-for-profit public policy research institute. The Institute identifies and aggressively shepherds discussion on key science, technology, and national security issues facing our society, providing in particular, an academic forum for the study of related policy issues.

Subsequent to his Naval career he was a Sr. Vice President in charge of Washington Operations for Alliant Techsystems, known as ATK,  from 2001 until 2007 and was responsible for all ATK relations with the US Congress and the Federal Government. ATK is a $4 Billion dollar defense & aerospace company and is the world’s largest ammunition and solid rocket fuel company in the world as well a leading supplier of ‘smart” weapons.  Prior to holding this position he held a similar position for Litton Industries from 1993 to 2001 when Litton was acquired by Northrop Grumman.  Litton was a major shipbuilding company as well as a leading supplier of electronic and navigation systems, and information systems.

Having served on active duty with the US Navy for 28 years, Ted Gordon held several high level positions.  He served as JAG from 1990 to 1992 and  Deputy JAG and Commander of the Navy Legal Services Command from 1989 to 1990.  Prior to that he was the Commander of the Naval Investigative Security Command and the Director of the Naval Investigative Service from 1987.

Earlier Ted Gordon spent much of his career in dealing with Congressional Relations.  From 1986 to 1987 he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs under Defense Secretary Cap Weinberger, and from 1985 to 1986 as Director of Senate Liason for the Secretary of the Navy.  From 1981 to 1985 he was Special Assistant for Legal and Legislative affairs for the Secretary of the Navy,  John Lehman.

Earlier assignments included being the Contracting Officer for the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, several at sea tours (including time in Vietnam during the Vietnam War) and assignment to the Navy’s office of Legislative Affairs.

Ted Gordon is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and the University of Temple School of Law.

Rod Shedd ( HR and Growth)

Rod began his career with IBM in Vermont and worked in various Human Resource staff and management positions. He moved to IBM Headquarters where he managed a staff responsible for nationwide human resource information systems, directed project teams in redesigning human resource business processes, and provided consultation in consolidating and centralizing human resource services.

In 1993, he founded Human Resource Professionals, Inc., a Management and Human Resource consulting business. Rod worked with clients in education, manufacturing, publishing, banking, hospitality, international trade services, healthcare and non-profit organizations. Services included: organizational design and business planning, assessment of HR processes, information technology solutions, and plans for improving communication and service to customers.

In 1998 he joined IDX Systems Corporation (IDX) and held senior management positions in recruitment, human resource information systems, technical education and Six Sigma.

In 2006 he was responsible for leading the integration of IDX HR systems and processes into GE Healthcare, and managed a team that supported HR business strategies and operations for GE Healthcare Business Solutions. He was also the project lead for the formation of a new business entity in GE Healthcare and provided due diligence support for new business opportunities.

In 2007 he founded Workforce Management Solutions LLC. Rod and a team of associate’s partner with human resource professionals and business leaders to understand their specific needs and objectives. They provide business solutions based on in depth, hands on experience and leadership positions at multiple companies and industries. Services include: HR strategic planning, assessment of workforce and business practices, human resource information systems planning and implementation, project planning and management, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, recruitment management services, best practice research, and interim management assignments.

Raphael Some (Fault Tolerance, and Security Government Solutions)

Raphael Some is an internationally recognized expert in fault tolerant and reliable computing systems with over 30 years experience in the design and implementation of advanced computing systems in the aerospace, military and commercial sectors.

He has authored over 50 peer reviewed publications including papers, book chapters, and articles, has been a frequent lecturer and instructor for industry post graduate courses, and has served on two PhD committees. Throughout his career, Raphael has held positions across the aerospace industry including: Chief Engineer and System Engineering Manager for the NASA/JPL REE (Remote Exploration and Experimentation) advanced fault tolerant computer project, Principle Investigator for the USAF/Raytheon AAOP (Advanced Architecture Onboard Processor) fault tolerant computer project, and Technical Director of the USAF/Raytheon BSTS OBDP (Boost-phase Surveillance and Tracking System On Board Data Processor)  fault tolerant on-board computer system. In addition, Mr. Some has lead and consulted on a diverse set of high reliability computing projects including the development of: real time operating systems for aircraft and communications systems; inter-computer communications systems and protocols for aircraft and high reliability ground equipment; highly reliable components and circuits for military and spacecraft computing systems; software architectures, middleware and development tools for highly reliable and fault tolerant high performance computers.

Anthony Turel ( Medical Advisory Team )

Dr. Turelis currently Professor of Neurology and Vice-Chair of Neurology Clinical Trials, Department of Neurology, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center,Hershey, Pennsylvania, 2006-Present

He graduated from the School of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University with a BA in Chemistry. He captained the Cornell varsity football team in 1962. He attended Cornell University Medical College where he received his MD in 1967. He did his postgraduate training at University Hospitals of Cleveland where he did a Medical Internship and Residency followed by a Fellowship in Neurology.

He served as an Air Force Captain (1st Air Cavalry) in Vietnam and later at Valley Forge Army Hospital

In 2004, he was inducted into the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Volunteer Hall of Fame. He has been active as a principal investigator in numerous clinical research trials including stroke, multiple sclerosis, headache, seizure disorders, and helped the development of inventory tool to be utilized in response to bioterrorism and natural disaster events.

Robert Baker (Medical Advisory Team and Valuation Team)

Rob Baker served as Managing Director of IDX Systems UK Ltd., a wholly-owed subsidiary of IDX Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: IDXC).  Founded in 1969, and a US public company since 1995, IDX was a leading provider of healthcare information systems with more than 1,600 customer relationships and 2,100 employees in 10 locations throughout the United States and the United Kingdom, and with annual revenues in excess of $650 million.  In January 2006, IDX merged into GE.  Since departing GE Healthcare in 2006, Mr. Baker has served as general counsel for emerging software companies and is developing a consulting practice in strategy and governance for emerging companies.

Mr Baker was the highest ranking officer of IDX Systems UK and was responsible for all strategy, operations, delivery and customer relationships. IDX Systems UK employed approximately 500 IT workers in the UK and was responsible for delivering on contracts worth over $1 billion in connection with the UK National Health Service’s National Programme for Information Technology.

Mr. Baker is an experienced software business leader with 25 years industry experience and 16 years experience in company development through stages of entrepreneurial growth, initial public share offering, board development, acquisitions, change management, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, global expansion, program management and IT turnaround.

Mr. Baker formerly served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of IDX Systems Corporation.  As General Counsel, Mr. Baker was responsible for management of all legal affairs of the Company and the management of the IDX Legal Department. Prior to joining IDX, Mr Baker was a partner in the Corporate Law Department of Baltimore-based law firm Weinberg and Green (now Saul, Ewing, Weinberg and Green), where he established the firm’s technology law practice group and represented businesses in a wide range of transactions and matters.

Mr. Baker graduated from Wesleyan University and from the University of Maryland School of Law.   He currently serves as a Trustee of the Green Mountain Valley School in Waitsfield, Vermont.  He has served as a Director of the New England Legal Foundation, a public interest law firm with headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts and as a Trustee Associate of the Notre Dame College of Maryland.  Mr.Baker is a graduate of The Leadership, a private-public sector alliance located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Ric Speaker  (Medical Advisory Team and Valuation Team)

Ric Speaker – For twenty-seven years actively involved in the health care systems industry with three years on the provider side.  Speaker has successfully built several software companies as well as managing business development, marketing, sales and overall P&L operations for several organizations.  He is passionate about maximizing the efficiency for systems at all levels for the health care industry and assuring customer satisfaction by measuring customers’ requirements and providing a solution that meets the expectations.  Speaker currently is a Principal of Precision.BI, LLC (“PBI”) a leader in healthcare business and clinical intelligence as well as serving as President of Acumen Healthcare, PBI’s parent.  After three years innovating numerous marketing methodologies for the nascent physician computer market with pioneer Omni American, Inc., Speaker spent eight years with IDX (now GE Healthcare) as General Manager with P&L responsibility running two of the company’s four operating divisions.    For three years he founded and managed a physician MSO (175 physician members) that exists today – Strategic Health Care, Inc.  He was recruited to the Presidency for VERSYSS Healthcare in a successful turnaround and company sale.  Over the next nine years Speaker founded, managed and sold three companies and served as President and as a board member for two other healthcare companies.  Prior to PBI, along with five other investors, he purchased a subsidiary from Anthem folding it into a new organization, 1mind Corporation that architected and delivered business process software systems serving the payer market.  1mind was sold to Pegasystems (NASDAQ: PEGA).

Ed Rutkowski (Medical Advisory Team and Valuation Team)

Mr. Rutkowski is President of Domer Associates, a consulting corporation in which he is an advisor to various private sector businesses.  He also serves on the Advisory Board of VisualGate Systems, which is a private technology company operating in the global electronics video surveillance solution market. 

For the past ten years he served as the Western District Director for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation where he was responsible for the management of 27 State Parks, including Niagara Falls State Park, the oldest State Park in the country, and concentrated on public/private partnerships.  From 1993 to 1995 he was the President of Phoenix Energy Corporation, a rechargeable battery company.  From 1989 to 1993 he held the position of Vice President of Corporate Development for Envirogas, Inc. and then Integrated Waste Services.  Previous to that, he was the elected County Executive of Erie County, New York, where he managed the then 15th largest county in the United States from 1979 to 1988.  Mr. Rutkowski served as Administrative Assistant to Congressman Jack Kemp from 1970 to 1978.  From 1963 to 1968, he played professional football (Quarterback/Wide Receiver) with the Buffalo Bills and after a brief stint with the Montreal Alouettes (Quarterback) be retired to help run the Congressional campaign of his friend and teammate, Jack Kemp, who was elected to Congress in 1970.

Mr. Rutkowski attended the University of Notre Dame where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree while majoring in Political Science.  He has held the office of Class President and is currently serving as Vice President of the Class of ‘63.  Mr. Rutkowski has received many honors, the most significant having been inducted into the Pennsylvania National Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.

Currently, Mr. Rutkowski is President of Domer Associates, a consulting corporation in which he is an advisor to various private sector businesses.  He also serves on the Advisory Board of VisualGate Systems, which is a private technology company operating in the global electronics video surveillance solution market.  He lives in Hamburg, New York with his wife Marilou and has three daughters and five grandchildren.

Dr. Carl H. Sadowsky (Medical Advisory Team and Valuation Team)

Carl Sadowsky, M.D. is Director of Research at Premiere Research Institute.  He is the Medical Director of the Memory Disorders Center at St. Mary’s Hospital.  Dr. Sadowsky is also Clinical Associate professor, Division of Neurology, at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Dr. Sadowsky received his B.S. in biochemistry graduating Summa Cum Laude from SUNY at Stony Brook where he also served as Captain of the Judo team. Dr. Sadowsky received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York City, New York. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a residency in neurology, including a chief residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, New Hampshire. Dr. Sadowsky served as a United States Air Force Major and Chief of Neurology of the United States Air Force Hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany from 1976-1979.

Dr. Sadowsky has participated in numerous trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of various cholinesterase inhibitors in the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), a primary focus of his research efforts.  He is also a frequent presenter at medical meetings and symposia and a prolific writer.  His articles, which have appeared in such prestigious journals as the Journal of the American Medical Association, Neurology, and Archives of Neurology, have most recently focused on comparisons of agents used in the treatment of patients with AD, the molecular mechanisms of AD and ethical issues associated with patient care.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Sadowsky is a board member of the Southeast Florida Alzheimer’s Association.  Among his career distinctions, Dr. Sadowsky is listed in Best Doctors in America and Best Doctors in America, Southeast Region.
